Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter, softened at room temperature
- 4 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 egg
- 1 to 2 tablespoons cold water
- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- Sesame seeds or poppy seeds (optional)
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- In the Mixing Bowl, combine butter and cheese and use an electric mixer to blend in the egg and water.
- In a separate bowl, combine flour, salt, cayenne pepper, and paprika and gradually add dry ingredients to the cheese mixture.
- The dough will pull away from the sides of the bowl. Put it together to form a ball.
- On the Roul'Pat®, roll out half of the dough at a time using the Beechwood Rolling Pin. Roll to a 1/4 inch thickness. Do not roll it too thin!
- Cut star shapes and lift the Roul'Pat® from underneath to remove stars.
- Place the Silpat® on the Perforated Baking Sheet and transfer the stars on the Silpat®.
- If desired, sprinkle with sesame seeds or poppy seeds before baking.
- Bake for 15 minutes and enjoy!
